Emergencies/Crises

In an emergency: Call 999 or go to your local A&E department.
If you are in crisis and need to speak to someone:

- Call NHS 111 (for when you need help but are not in immediate danger)
- Contact your GP and ask for an emergency appointment
- Contact the Samaritans – 116 123. Available 24 hours a day.
- Use the ‘Shout’ crisis text line – text SHOUT to 85258
- National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK – Offers a supportive listening service to anyone with thoughts of suicide. Call 0800 689 5652 (open 24/7).
- MIND – The MIND website has information on many more mental health crisis helplines.
